宗教改革以后，圣公会、信义宗、长老会、改革宗、浸信会、循道会等主流宗派都在崇拜手册中附上祷告文（Canonical Hours or Daily Office），以帮助信徒正确地祷告。这些祷告文是大公教会的宝贵财富，可以提醒我们正确的教义，以免偏离真道、堕入宗教幻觉；也可以提醒我们哪些才是当求的事，以免被眼前的危机一叶障目。所以J. I. 巴刻说：「《公祷书 Book of Common Prayer》是我们成全保罗在歌罗西书2:6-7中对我们召唤的重要帮助来源：既然你们接受了主基督耶稣，就要靠着祂而生活，照着你们所领受的教导，在祂里面生根建造，信心坚固，充满着感谢的心。」（The Prayer Book Path, 1999）现成的祷文固然可能被当作公式，但我们可以加入自己的内容，把它化为己出；自己的祷文固然可以自由发挥，但若眼界狭窄，也会僵化成重复的套话。以下日常私祷文综合了圣经的祷告，以及早期教父、圣公会、改革宗和长老会的传统，内容平衡，并不倚赖于个人的天性偏好，也不会随着情绪阴晴不定。如果你还不会祷告，可以直接诵读这些现成的祷文，默想、理解每一句话，然后在心中阿们，直到学会自己祷告。如果你已经会祷告，也可以经常默想这些祷文、加进自己的祷告，使我们的祷告内容更加全面、属灵视野更加宽广。

　　神啊，我们信靠祢，祢是我们的避难所，是我们的力量：我将祢的仆人（某某）交托在祢的仁慈看顾和保护之下，他即将离开我们远行。求祢赐给他勇气、谨慎和节制，为他兴起好朋友，保护他远离孤独。求祢保守他常在祢的护理保护之下，让他永远敬畏和爱戴祢的圣名。靠着我主耶稣基督祈求，阿们。O GOD, the refuge and strength of all who put their trust in You: Unto Your gracious care and keeping we commit Your servant (name), now going forth from us. Give him courage, prudence, and self-control; raise up for him good friends; preserve him from loneliness; keep him, I beseech You, under the protection of Your good providence, and make him have a perpetual fear and love of Your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

三、苦难的祷告

经受试炼者

　　永恒的神啊，祢是世界独一的创造者、保护者、审判者和拯救者，惟有祢掌管生死的力量。我们的主耶稣基督在胜过死亡和地狱后宣告：「我曾死过，现在又活了，直活到永永远远；并且拿着死亡和阴间的钥匙。」虽然我的环境常常似乎与祢的应许相反，我看到的看上去与听到的不一致。但是，即使是在十字架上，当祢似乎缺席、当祢的儿子似乎被祢如此残忍和不公正地抛弃的时候，祂却因此成就了祢将我从黑暗权势中拯救出来的目的。所以我承认，我的心如此受制于我的眼此刻所见的现实，以致我很容易忘记祢的道所启示、我的耳所听到的更伟大的现实。求祢通过这些试炼，指教我数算自己的日子，认识到我只是在这个世代衰残，却要在即将来的世代发旺。我知道，这些争战并非出于祢的忿怒，而是祢拯救我、圣化我、荣耀祢自己的计划的一部分。虽然我可能惧怕环境，但我不再惧怕律法的定罪、死亡的毒钩、或者撒但的利箭。因为我知道，祢的儿子借着死而复活，已经为我赢得了胜利。求祢借着这些试验，使我更有把握站立在祢面前，身穿我们救主耶稣基督的完全义袍、而非我自己行为的污秽破衣。求祢继续在祂里面鉴察我，因为我是奉祂的名祷告。Eternal God, the only Creator, Preserver, Judge, and Savior of the world, You alone hold the powers of life and death. Our Lord Jesus Christ, when He had conquered death and hell, announced, “I was dead, but I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and Hades in my hand.” Yet often my circumstances seem to testify against Your promise. What I see does not appear to agree with what I have heard. Yet, even at the cross, where You seemed so absent and Your Son seemed so cruelly and unjustly abandoned by You, I have been taught that He was thereby fulfilling Your purposes to redeem me from the power of darkness. I confess that my heart is so bound to the realities that I see with my eyes in the moment, that I easily forget the greater realities that I hear with my ears through Your Word. Teach me through these trials to number my days, recognizing that I am but fading in this age, but will flourish in the age to come. I know that these struggles are not tokens of Your wrath, but are part of Your plan to save me, sanctify me, and glorify Yourself. While I may fear the circumstances, I no longer fear the condemnation of the law, the sting of death, or the sharp arrows of Satan. For I know that Your Son gained victory for me by His death and resurrection. I ask that You would, even through these tests, deepen my confidence to appear before You clothed, not in the filthy rags of my own works, but in the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ our Savior. Continue to look upon me in Him, for I pray in His name.

忍受患难者

　　全能、永恒、公义的神啊，祢是我们怜悯的父：祢是生与死的主，若没有祢的旨意，天上地下什么都不会发生。当我思想自己如何度过一生的时候，就知道自己不配呼求祢的名，也不指望祢会垂听。然而，我祈求祢照着祢的怜悯，在基督里鉴察我，因为祂已经承担了我所有的软弱。我承认，按照我所行的，若是离了祂，我应该得到的远不止这种患难。但是主啊，我是祢的子民，祢是我的神。祢的怜悯从未留下不给那些转向祢的人，那是我唯一的避难所。因此，求祢不要将我的罪归在我身上，而是将我们救主的智慧、公义和圣洁归于我。求祢因着祂的缘故，把我从苦难中救拔出来，免得那恶者以为我已经被神抛弃。如果祢乐意延长我的试炼，求祢赐给我耐心和力量，使我能照着祢的旨意承受这一切，并且愿祢的智慧造就我。主啊，我宁愿在今生受罚，也不愿在来世灭亡。求祢让我能向这个世界和一切属地的事物死，从而可以按着耶稣基督的形象每天更新。求祢允许我永远不与祢的爱分离，反而使我每天更加亲近祢，最终可以进入我蒙召所要进入的喜乐，也就是与基督同死、又与祂一同凯旋复活，永远与祂同在。我也确信，祢会在耶稣基督里垂听我的祷告。O almighty, eternal, and righteous God, our merciful Father: You are the Lord of life and death; without Your will, nothing happens in heaven or on earth. I are not worthy to call upon Your name, nor to hope that You will listen to me, when I consider how I have spent my time in this life. Yet I pray that You will, according to Your mercy, look upon me in Christ, who has taken upon Himself all my infirmities. I acknowledge that on account of who I am, apart from Him, I deserve far more than this affliction. But Lord, I‘m Your people, and You are my God. Your mercy, which You have never withheld from those who turn to You, is my only refuge. Therefore, I pray, count not my sins against me, but impute to me the wisdom, righteousness, and holiness of our Savior. For His sake, deliver me from this suffering, in order that the Evil One may not regard me as forsaken by God. And if it pleases You to prolong my trial, give me patience and strength to bear it all according to Your will, and may it in Your wisdom be for my edification. I would rather be chastised here, Lord, than have to perish with the world hereafter. Grant that I may die to this world and to all earthly things, that I may be renewed daily after the image of Jesus Christ. Permit me never to be separated from Your love, but draw me daily closer and closer to You, that at last I may enter with joy upon the end of my divine calling, which is to die with Christ, rise with Him triumphantly, and live with Him eternally. I also believe that You will hear me through Jesus Christ.

生命垂危者

　　永恒的神，满有怜悯的父啊，祢是生存者的永恒拯救、垂死者的永恒生命，惟有祢掌管生死。祢始终眷顾我们，若没有祢的旨意，无论是健康还是疾病、善还是恶，都不会临到我们，连一根头发也不会从我们的头上掉下来。祢为我们的益处命定一切。求祢赐下圣灵的恩典，让祂教导我真正了解自己的苦难，并且耐心地忍受祢的管教。按照我所行的，这管教本该更加严厉一万倍。但我知道，它们并非出于祢的忿怒，而是出于祢对我的父爱，这样，我就不会被世界定罪。求祢借着圣灵增加我的信心，使我越来越与基督联合，因为祢要我在受苦和荣耀上都效法祂。求祢减轻我的十字架，使我能在软弱中背负它。我毫无保留地顺服祢圣洁的旨意，无论祢要把我的灵魂留在这地上的帐棚里，还是把它带回到祢那里。我毫无惧怕，因为我属于基督、所以不会灭亡。我甚至渴望离开这个软弱的身体，盼望得着蒙福的复活，因为知道这身体将以更荣耀的形式得着恢复。求祢让我可以体验到罪得赦免和在基督里称义的福气。愿我能凭着这保障胜过撒但的所有攻击。愿耶稣无罪的血洗去我的污秽，愿祂的义在祢的最后审判中遮盖我的不义。求祢用信心和盼望作我的兵器，免得我因为惧怕死亡而蒙羞。当我身体的眼睛变得昏暗时，愿我灵魂的眼睛注视祢。当祢从我取走说话的能力时，愿我的心永不停息地呼求祢。主啊，我将我的灵魂交在祢的手中，求祢不要在死亡来临的时刻抛弃我。我这样祷告，是因着基督的缘故。Eternal and merciful God and Father, the eternal salvation of the living and the eternal life of the dying, You alone have life and death in Your hands. You continually care for me in such a way that neither health nor sickness, neither good nor evil, can befall me—indeed, not even a hair can fall from my head—without Your will. You order all things for the good of believers. I ask that You will grant me the grace of the Holy Spirit, that He may teach me to know truly my miseries, and to bear patiently Your chastisements, which, as far as my merits are concerned, might have been ten thousand times more severe. I know that they are not tokens of Your wrath, but of Your fatherly love for me, that I might not be condemned with the world. Increase my faith by Your Holy Spirit, that I may become more and more united with Christ, to whom You desire to conform me, both in suffering and in glory. Lighten my cross, so that I in my weakness may be able to bear it. I submit myself without reserve to Your holy will, whether You leave my soul here in this earthly tent or take it home to Yourself. I have no fear, because I belong to Christ and therefore shall not perish. I even desire to depart from this weak body in the hope of a blessed resurrection, knowing that then it will be restored to me in a much more glorious form. Grant that I may experience the blessed comfort of the remission of sins and justification in Christ. May I with that defense overcome all the assaults of Satan. May Jesus’ innocent blood wash away my stain, and may His righteousness cover my unrighteousness in Your judgment at last. Arm me with faith and hope, that I may not be put to shame by any fear of death. May the eyes of my soul be fixed upon You when the eyes of my body become dim. When You take from me the power of speech, may my heart never cease to call upon You. O Lord, I commit my soul into Your hands; do not forsake me in the hour of death. This I pray only for the sake of Christ.
